 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  NSCDC:Anambra State Commandant Conducts On The Spot Assessment To JAMB CBT Examination Centers In Awka

The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,  Comdt. Maku Olatunde A. on April 24, conducted an on the spot assessment to several JAMB CBT examination centers in Awka, assessing security arrangements and interacting with deployed personnel.


According to SC Okadigbo Edwin, Head, Media and Tactical NSCDC Anambra State Command, the visited centers, including JAMB Office ICT Center, St. Patrick's College Awka, and St. John of God Awka, reported smooth proceedings with robust security, zero incidents, and JAMB officials assisting candidates.


"Commandant Maku, during his visit to the exam centers, emphasized the importance of maintaining a professional demeanor, urging officers and men to remain courteous and respectful in their interactions with candidates, thereby ensuring a positive experience for all.


"Interacting with personnel at the centers, Commandant Maku stressed the need for politeness and civility, reminding them that their conduct would reflect not only on themselves but also on the entire security agency.


"I commend you for your diligence and professionalism in ensuring a secure and peaceful JAMB examination process" he said.


Meanwhile, a separate monitoring team, led by Deputy Commandants Prominence Ukaobi, Akaachia Godwin and  Alada Yakubu, was deployed to oversee security at JAMB centers outside Awka Metropolis.
