 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment. REPS POSTPONE MEETING WITH RIVERS STATE SOLE ADMINISTRATOR. (PHOTO).

 Reps Postpone Meeting with Rivers State Sole Administrator


The House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on Rivers State Oversight has postponed its scheduled interactive session with the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd.), originally set for Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 4:00 PM.


The shift follows a formal request from Vice Admiral Ibas to defer the meeting to a later date.


The committee had earlier summoned the administrator for a detailed discussion on recent developments in Rivers State.


According to a statement from House Spokesperson Hon. Akin Rotimi, the committee acknowledged the request and is working to fix a new date for the session.


“The committee remains committed to transparent and effective oversight and will announce the new date once it is finalized,” the statement read.
