 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.  Rivers Emergency Rule: Lawyers Urge ECOWAS Court to Sanction Tinubu, NASS


A group of Nigerian legislative lawyers under ALDRAP has filed a suit at the ECOWAS Court, seeking sanctions against President Bola Tinubu and National Assembly leaders over the declaration of emergency rule in Rivers State.


Tinubu declared the emergency on March 18, citing political unrest and accusing Governor Sim Fubara of demolishing the state assembly building. A retired Vice Admiral was appointed as Sole Administrator, with all elected officials suspended.


ALDRAP argues the move violates ECOWAS protocols on democracy and governance, calling it an unconstitutional power grab. The group also petitioned ECOWAS leadership, warning that failure to act would signal double standards, referencing sanctions previously imposed on Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger. 


The suit is pending assignment for hearing.
