 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service.  Somalis March to Police Station in Tshwane to Demand Respect


A group of Somali nationals marched to a police station in Tshwane on Friday, 25 April 2025, to demand better treatment and respect from the South African Police Service (SAPS).


The peaceful march was organised following complaints of alleged harassment and unfair treatment by some police officers. The group, carrying placards, called for dignity, fairness, and protection of their rights.


Leaders of the Somali community handed over a memorandum of demands to police officials, asking for improved relations and accountability.


Police management accepted the memorandum and committed to engaging with the community to address their concerns.
