 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.   SUSPECTED THIEF WHO WAS ASSAULTED BY COMMUNITY MEMBERS DIES 


MANKWENG: The Police in Mankweng has confirmed that a suspected thief who was assaulted by community members has succumbed to his injuries. 


The incident took place at Ga-Motholo village on Wednesday 16 April 2025 at about 21:00. 


Police reports suggest that Police were on patrol duties when they received a complaint about a mob attack incident in progress outside the University of Limpopo and rushed to the vicinity. Upon arrival, they found a male victim estimated to be in his twenties lying on the street with multiple severe visible injuries on the body. 


The motive of the incident is unknown at this stage. 


The Police say a massive manhunt for suspects who committed the murder has been launched.
