 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  Trump's Envoy Steve Witkoff Meets Putin in Moscow Amid Ukraine Peace Efforts


Steve Witkoff, U.S. President Donald Trump's envoy, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Friday during what Trump has described as a pivotal moment in efforts to end the war in Ukraine.


WITKOFF has become Washington’s primary channel for communication with Putin as Trump works to broker a peace agreement, having already held three extensive meetings with the Russian leader.


Putin was joined by his foreign policy adviser, Yuri Ushakov, and investment envoy Kirill Dmitriev.


This visit comes just a day after Trump condemned a Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv that left at least 12 dead, urging on social media: "Vladimir, STOP!"


Despite the attack, Trump stated that substantial progress had been made in peace negotiations.


“These next few days will be crucial. Talks are ongoing, and I believe we’re very close to reaching an agreement,” Trump remarked.
