 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  Unknown Gunmen Kill 3 Policemen in Enugu  


Tragedy struck today as unidentified gunmen opened fire on a police checkpoint near Ozudaa Market in Achi, Oji River LGA of Enugu State, killing at least three officers.  


Details of the attack are still sketchy. Efforts to reach the Enugu State Police PRO, SP Daniel Ndukwe, have been unsuccessful. However, a disturbing video making rounds online shows the lifeless bodies of the slain officers.  


May their souls rest in peace.
