This shocking incident occurred on May 19th in Atmore, Alabama. Neighbors of 44-year-old James Williamson (pictured below) reported hearing "pained and desperate yelps" coming from the home of Williamson.
As officers arrived on scene, they were met with a heartbreaking scene. A very small chihuahua was laying in the driveway deceased with obvious signs of having been fatally burned. Sergeant McMann with Atmore P.D. said he was "so shocked by what he saw that he had to take a moment to get himself together".
After questioning involved individuals, the disturbing story emerged. According to witnesses, Williamson became engaged in an argument with family members due to being upset by the pup "barking too much". During the argument, Williamson threatened to put the dog in the oven.
Williamson would eventually make good on this threat when he placed the small dog inside of the oven and placed a chair against the door to prevent the dog from escaping.
James Williamson was arrested on a Class C felony animal cruelty charge. Williamson had bond set at $15,000 dollars and is ordered to have no contact with animals if he is released.
