Anambra State Marks 2025 International Day of the Boy Child with Inspiring Engagements

Anambra State joined the rest of the world to commemorate the 2025 International Day of the Boy Child with a well-attended event themed "Boys Today, Great Men Tomorrow".
The event, which took place at the Anambra State Civic and Social Reformation Office (ANCISRO) featured interactive sessions designed to inspire and guide young boys and was graced by key stakeholders across the state.
Speaking, the Managing Director ANCISRO, Sir Chuka Nnabuife encouraged the students to live with integrity and aspire toward greatness.
“Live a life that leads to greatness and always take responsibility. Begin now to sow the seeds of responsibility and above all, develop a personal relationship with God,” he advised.
The Asatu Youth President General, Comrade Ken Okoli, emphasized the importance of a strong moral foundation in shaping future generations. He likened boys to seeds and described parents, teachers and community leaders as the "farmers" responsible for nurturing them.
“These young boys are like seeds. It is the responsibility of the farmer, representing the family, school and society to nurture them into responsible men. We must all play our part in guiding their moral development.”
He urged stakeholders to partner with ANCISRO to instill values in the younger generation and called on the boys to believe in themselves.
“We must change our actions, beliefs, and principles, because men build countries, countries don't build men,” he added.
The Managing Director, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Sir Christopher Molokwu inspired the boys to start working on their dreams today.
“Every child here is special. The end result is not about where we are now but where we are going. The tomorrow of our dreams begins today," he said.
The President, Anambra State Association of Non-Indigenes, Prince Chigozie Nweke, emphasized the inclusion of civic education in school curriculum, urging the students to learn the values, norms and laws that govern society. He highlighted the importance of understanding the Nigerian Constitution as a tool for shaping their future.
“Let us not just prepare boys for the future, but also prepare the future for the boys,” he concluded.
The event brought together students from selected secondary schools across the state and proved to be an inspiring and impactful occasion, reinforcing the critical role of boys in shaping the future of society.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, MD Anambra State Waste Management Agency, Mr. Mike Ozoemena, and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Women Affairs, Lady Hope Okoye.
