 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  El-Rufai’s Son, Bello Backs President Tinubu’s Re-election Bid, Distances Himself From Father’s SDP Move


Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North and son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has thrown his support behind President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term, distancing himself from his father’s recent defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).


Bello made his stance clear during the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit held in Abuja, where President Tinubu was formally endorsed as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 general election.


This development follows Nasir El-Rufai’s exit from the APC in March 2025, citing a divergence in values. The former governor joined the SDP with a pledge to unify the opposition in a bid to unseat the ruling party in the next election.


Bello’s endorsement of Tinubu has stirred political discourse. Commenting on the matter, political commentator Reno Omokri remarked, “If El-Rufai can’t convince his son to leave Tinubu, how will he convince Nigerians?”
