 New Head of Service Urges Anambra Civil Servants to Embrace Efficiency and Accountability ‎ ‎By Chizoba Njaka  ‎ ‎The newly appointed Head of Service in Anambra State, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, has called on civil servants to shift towards efficiency and accountability, promising improvements in welfare.  ‎ ‎Addressing staff at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka, Iwouno outlined her vision for a professional, merit-based, and citizen-centered service that aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's goals. ‎ ‎Iwouno emphasized that her mission is not just a statement, but a call to action, demanding sincerity and commitment from all workers. Four individuals producing counterfeit herbicides have been apprehended in Inkil, as the Command is initiating an extensive investigation. 


On May 3, 2025, at about 13:30 hours, a team of detectives attached to the Monitoring Unit of the Command upon credible intelligence regarding the mass production of counterfeit herbicides in a residential area within Bauchi Metropolitan. The individuals detained include:  


1. Usman Suleman, male, aged 21 years, of Karofin Madaki,  

2. Ahmad Musa, male, aged 20 years, of Wuntin Dada, and  

3. Muhammad Nuhu, male, aged 17 years, of Fadaman Mada—all residents within the Bauchi metropolis.  


The defendants were discovered and apprehended while in the process of producing these illicit substances at a residence located in the Unguwan Liman area of Bauchi.  


A comprehensive search was conducted during this operation, yielding the recovery of the following items:  


1. Twenty-six cartons labelled "Force Up"  

2. One empty carton of "Gobora,"  

3. Two plastic drums containing a suspicious liquid mixture,  

4. Two buckets.

5. One hundred empty one-litre containers of "Force Up."  


Furthermore, the search uncovered sealing tapes, scissors, super glue, leather materials, charcoal, five welding spoons, a charcoal stove, and an assortment of cover seals.  


During the interrogation, the defendants implicated Muhammad Muhammad, a 36-year-old of Fadaman Mada. This individual was subsequently located and apprehended for this illegal operation. The suspects are currently in police custody.  


Ongoing investigations aim to thoroughly address and dismantle these illicit activities within the State.
