El-Rufai’s Eye Condition Worsening In ICPC Custody, Aide Alleges The media aide to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Muyiwa Adekeye, has expressed concern over what he described as the worsening eye condition of his principal while in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). Adekeye also accused the anti-corruption agency of failing to provide El-Rufai with adequate medical care despite repeated complaints about his health. In a statement issued on Friday, Adekeye said the former governor had reported symptoms including swollen, red, and itchy eyes while in detention and had requested medical attention. According to him, family members who visited El-Rufai noticed the condition and alerted ICPC officials, urging them to allow him access to medical treatment. Gang Attacks Osun Amotekun Command, Injures Five Officers

The Osun State Amotekun Corps has confirmed an attack on its Awo Command in Egbedore Local Government Area by a notorious gang led by a wanted thug, Ismaila Aluko.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the corps’ spokesperson, Yusuf Idowu, the incident occurred last weekend following an invitation from the Oniwoye of Iwoye, who sought the assistance of Amotekun over an alleged illegal burial on ancestral land.

Idowu said four personnel were deployed to the site, but upon arrival, they discovered that the burial had already taken place.

He added, “Shockingly, a notorious and long-wanted thug, Ismaila Aluko, emerged from hiding with a gang of armed collaborators and launched a brutal attack on the operatives, injuring them in the process.”

He said the officers were forced to tactically withdraw to the command head office in Awo to avoid further confrontation.

However, the situation escalated when the gang regrouped and launched a second assault, this time targeting the Amotekun office.

“In a shocking turn of events, the hoodlums regrouped and staged a second attack on the Amotekun office in Awo.

“This brazen assault took place in the presence of law enforcement agents, including officers of the Nigeria Police Force, deployed to investigate the matter, and an officer of the Department of State Services, who was around to intercede in the matter, as well as family members of the assailants,” Idowu stated.

He said the attackers attempted to disarm the Amotekun operatives and left them with multiple injuries.

One personnel was seriously injured while four others sustained minor injuries,” he added.

Describing the attack as a direct threat to community peace and security, Idowu assured that the corps was working with other security agencies to ensure the arrest and prosecution of all those involved.

“We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the protection of lives, property, and community peace,” he said.
