  FLOOD ALERT: ANAMBRA GOVERNMENT URGES RESIDENTS TO TAKE PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES By Maureen Ugwukah The Anambra State Government has issued a flood alert to all residents of the state following a forecast by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET). The forecast listed Anambra as one of the states likely to experience above-normal flooding this year due to its location within the delta belt. The alert was jointly issued by the Ministry of Information and Value Reformation and the Ministry of Environment on September 22. The Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor, and the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, said government is taking proactive steps to mitigate the impact of the anticipated flooding. They, however, called on Ndi Anambra to prioritise personal and collective safety throughout the rainy season.
