 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. ILLINOIS: THREE FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS POLICE OFFICERS WERE SHOT LATE SATURDAY NIGHT. (PHOTO).

 Illinois- Three Fairview Heights police officers were shot late Saturday night. 


Fairview Heights PD were called to the report of a suspicious individual prowling near homes on Potomac Drive. Officers arrived on the scene a little before 10:00 p.m. and made contact with an individual who matched the description of the prowler. Officers reported the suspect was involved in what they described as a "domestic situation".


As police arrived on the scene and began to intervene, the suspect opened fire on the officers. One officer was struck in the face, while another was shot in the arm. A third officer was struck in the back, luckily his Kevlar vest prevented the bullet from penetrating the officer. 


The suspect was subdued, however, two additional officers were injured while making the arrest.  


The officer who was shot in the face was rushed to a nearby hospital where she underwent emergency surgery. She is listed in critical but stable condition. The officer struck in the arm suffered a broken bone as a result of the gunshot wound. He remains in the hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.  All other injured officers were treated and released. 


The suspect has not been identified and remains in custody at this time. The Illinois State Police have taken over the investigation at this point.


Our thoughts are with the injured officers and their families. We hope they have full recoveries.
