 Sudan war: Army says it inflicts heavy losses on RSF in Darfur, Kordofan Sudan’s army on Friday said that it inflicted heavy losses on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during a series of air and ground operations carried out over the past week in the Darfur and Kordofan regions. In a statement, the military said its forces conducted strikes against RSF positions, destroying around 240 combat vehicles and killing hundreds of fighters, Anadolu Agency reported. The army said the operations also targeted what it described as RSF logistical and operational facilities, including drone-related sites and storage areas, as well as locations at Nyala Airport in South Darfur. It added that ground forces had succeeded in pushing RSF fighters out of wide areas in both Darfur and Kordofan, and that operations were ongoing to pursue remaining elements. ILLINOIS: THREE FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS POLICE OFFICERS WERE SHOT LATE SATURDAY NIGHT. (PHOTO).

 Illinois- Three Fairview Heights police officers were shot late Saturday night. 


Fairview Heights PD were called to the report of a suspicious individual prowling near homes on Potomac Drive. Officers arrived on the scene a little before 10:00 p.m. and made contact with an individual who matched the description of the prowler. Officers reported the suspect was involved in what they described as a "domestic situation".


As police arrived on the scene and began to intervene, the suspect opened fire on the officers. One officer was struck in the face, while another was shot in the arm. A third officer was struck in the back, luckily his Kevlar vest prevented the bullet from penetrating the officer. 


The suspect was subdued, however, two additional officers were injured while making the arrest.  


The officer who was shot in the face was rushed to a nearby hospital where she underwent emergency surgery. She is listed in critical but stable condition. The officer struck in the arm suffered a broken bone as a result of the gunshot wound. He remains in the hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.  All other injured officers were treated and released. 


The suspect has not been identified and remains in custody at this time. The Illinois State Police have taken over the investigation at this point.


Our thoughts are with the injured officers and their families. We hope they have full recoveries.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
