 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. INDIA: A DOCTOR TURNED FRAUDSTER ARRESTED AFTER SEVERAL COMPLAINTS. (PHOTOS).

 Guwahati city police have apprehended Jyotimoy Laskar, a doctor-turned-fraudster accused of swindling lakhs of rupees from several individuals, including medical professionals, through fake work orders. Laskar posed as a supplier of medical equipment and deceived victims by presenting forged documents, transferring the collected funds into his wife’s bank account.


The scam came to light after several complaints were filed against him across Assam, with multiple cases registered in Guwahati, including at the Dispur police station. Laskar had been targeting doctors and medical personnel, taking advantage of their trust to carry out his fraudulent activities.


On the run since August 2023, Laskar had been evading law enforcement for months. However, Guwahati police finally tracked him down and took him into custody, bringing an end to his months-long absconding. Further investigation is underway.
