 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.  INEC Debunks Rumours of Voter Registration Resumption Date


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed reports claiming that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, including services such as the transfer and replacement of lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), will resume on May 27, 2025. The commission described the circulating message as false and urged the public to disregard it.


In a statement issued on Sunday via X by Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, the commission clarified that no official date has been set for the resumption of these activities. INEC emphasized that any authentic announcement regarding the CVR would be communicated through its verified social media platforms and other official channels.


“The Independent National Electoral Commission has not announced any date for the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration, Transfer, and Replacement of lost Permanent Voters’ Cards,” the statement read. “The public is urged to ignore the fake, anonymous claim that these services will resume on May 27, 2025.”


INEC reassured Nigerians that it would publicly disclose the resumption date and full details at the appropriate time, in line with its standard practice. The commission encouraged citizens to rely on its official communications for accurate information.
