So Linus Williams (Blord) has been released from Kuje prison after fulfilling his bail conditions, finally, freedom after a few weeks in custody. However, here’s the current position of his case:  He is still expected to show up and stand his trial.  If he fails to appear in court even for one day, his bail can be revoked and a bench warrant may be issued against him, meaning a return to Kuje. If the prosecution cannot prove the charges against him, he will be discharged and acquitted. If the prosecution proves the charges, he may be sentenced and sent back to Kuje. I think he should seek a peaceful resolution to the case. Congrats to him on his freedom for now.

As Anambra State workers join their counterparts in celebrating this year's International Workers' Day, the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described the State workforce as solid partners in progress and urged them to continue to sustain and deepen the existing friendly working environment and industrial harmony between them and Governor Chukwuma Soludo's administration.

In his Goodwill Message to the State workforce, Hon. Udeze noted with satisfaction the impressive performance of the Anambra State workers in various Civil Service competitions where they have continued to outshine their counterparts in the country, adding that they have done the State proud in both National and International competitions by clinching first positions as well as overall best teachers.

The Speaker, who commended Governor Soludo for his pragmatic efforts toward improving the status and welfare of the State workforce through massive employment, training and retraining of workers and provision of various support to the organized labour in the State, enjoined workers to reciprocate the Governor's gesture by shunning acts capable of smearing their image and reputation.
