 Texas man arrested with 75 pounds of marijuana in luggage while flying to London, police say A Texas man was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities found 75 pounds of marijuana in his luggage before he could board a flight to London. Harrison O’Neill Tiernan, 23, from Austin, was charged with cannabis trafficking. He was traveling to Heathrow Airport and had checked two suitcases for his British Airways flight. Inspectors discovered 65 vacuum-sealed packages containing a green, leafy substance later confirmed to be marijuana. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Tiernan while he attempted to board the flight, and he acknowledged that the bags were his. Authorities noted the inspections were part of broader efforts at the airport due to high outbound narcotics activity. In total, Tiernan was carrying 34.01 kilograms, or 74.98 pounds, of marijuana.  International Workers' Day: Anambra Speaker Felicitates Anambra Workers, Says They Are Outstanding

As Anambra State workers join their counterparts in celebrating this year's International Workers' Day, the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has described the State workforce as solid partners in progress and urged them to continue to sustain and deepen the existing friendly working environment and industrial harmony between them and Governor Chukwuma Soludo's administration.


In his Goodwill Message to the State workforce, Hon. Udeze noted with satisfaction the impressive performance of the Anambra State workers in various Civil Service competitions where they have continued to outshine their counterparts in the country, adding that they have done the State proud in both National and International competitions by clinching first positions as well as overall best teachers.


The Speaker, who commended Governor Soludo for his pragmatic efforts toward improving the status and welfare of the State workforce through massive employment, training and retraining of workers and provision of various support to the organized labour in the State, enjoined workers to reciprocate the Governor's gesture by shunning acts capable of smearing their image and reputation.


He enjoined them to use the occasion of this year's Workers' Day to reflect on how to be better and more productive by renewing their efforts through dedication, resilience and innovation.


The Speaker while commending the State Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Igwegbe and other Stakeholders in public and civil service sector in the State for transforming the system, urged workers to continue to support Soludo's administration, which he said, has touched them positively and restored their dignity.
