 Alleged $1.5m Fraud:   Witness Tells Court Funds Came into Defendant’s Account in Multiple Tranches The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, June 29, 2026, presented its third prosecution witness (PW3), Levi Amanda Opice, a Compliance Officer with Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), in the ongoing trial of Ifoma Immanuel before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Lagos State Special Offences Court, Ikeja, over an alleged $1.5 million fraud. Immanuel is standing trial alongside his company, Intermediate Investment Holdings Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and forgery involving the sum of $1.5 million. According to the EFCC, investigations revealed that the defendant allegedly induced Adebisi Adebutu of R28 Holdings Limited to invest $1.5 million by claiming that the funds would be used to finance projects linked to Chappal Petroleum Development Company Limited, Intermediate Investment Holdings Limited, and Chappal Ener...

 Jealous Ex Kills Former Girlfriend Who Came to Invite Him to Her Wedding


A middle-aged man identified as Ogbonna, popularly known as Mourinho, has allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend, Chisom Ayogu, at his residence in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.


A report by Vanguard revealed the deceased, who hailed from Amufie community in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, had visited Mourinho at his home on New Anglican Road, Nsukka, to inform him about her forthcoming marriage ceremony.


The visit, however, took a tragic turn when a disagreement erupted, leading to Mourinho violently assaulting his ex-girlfriend for reasons yet to be ascertained.


According to eyewitnesses, before help could arrive, Chisom Ayogu was already comatose. A resident of the area, who chose to remain anonymous, confirmed that she was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead.


The source also revealed that the suspect, Ogbonna, who hails from Igogoro community, also in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, has been arrested by the police for interrogation.
