 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Man Arrested for Brutal Murder of His Partner in Schoemansdal


A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of the mother of his children. The incident took place on Monday, 12 May 2025.


According to reports, the man and the 31-year-old woman were involved in a heated argument before the attack. It is alleged that the suspect used an axe to fatally assault the victim.


Preliminary investigations reveal that the couple had two children together. After the attack, the suspect reportedly left the woman’s lifeless body in the street.


Police and other emergency services were called to the scene, and a swift investigation led to the suspect’s arrest.


He is expected to appear before the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, where he will face a charge of murder.
