2027: INEC FACES CREDIBLE QUESTION AS AMUPITAN CONFIRMS DEAD PERSONS’ NAMES ON REGISTER. (PHOTO).

 The credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters’ register has come under intense scrutiny ahead of the 2027 general elections, following revelations by INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan that names of deceased persons remain on the register. Amupitan disclosed that names of voters who died as far back as 15 years ago are still listed, a situation critics say could undermine the integrity of the 2027 polls and lead to significant financial waste through the printing of excess ballot papers and other election logistics. The INEC chairman made the revelation while receiving the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and her management team during a courtesy visit in Abuja on Wednesday. MIKE SUMLER ' KOOL & THE GANG MEMBER PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 71.(PHOTO).

 The music world has lost a true legend. Michael "Chicago Mike" Sumler, longtime member of Kool & The Gang, died at 71 following a car crash in Georgia's Cobb County over Memorial Day weekend. The beloved performer had just finished a concert at Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre as part of the "Evening of Funk" show before the tragic accident occurred just before midnight on Saturday, May 24. Known as the group's energetic "hype man," Michael joined Kool & The Gang in 1985 and brought his Chicago charm to the stage for nearly four decades. 


Colleagues remember him as "always jovial, always kind" and someone who "always wanted to see other people succeed." His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his music and kindness.
