The Traditional Ruler of Azumini Ndoki Ancient Kingdom in Ukwa East LGA, Abia State, HRM Eze Edward Eule (Onyenweali X), has dismissed claims by some of his subjects that he abandoned his throne following his temporary absence from the community. This is as six suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with the stealing of the community’s electricity transformer, thus plunging the community into darkness. The monarch, who is currently in the U.S, explained that his trip was to attend to personal and professional matters, adding that he will soon return to Nigeria. "I travelled to the United States of America in May 2025 to attend to some professional and personal matters. I am robustly healthy and fine, and I may soon conclude the task of my sojourn here", he said. Prof. Eule accused individuals he described as "mischief-makers operating under the guise of an Interim Ruling Council" of peddling falsehoods and propaganda about his alleged abdication. ...

OTCI FACILITATES SUCCESSFUL RESOLUTION OF MANDATE OVERLAP BETWEEN MINISTRIES

Stakeholders' Engagement Meeting on Mandate Delineation Between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Waterfront and Infrastructure Development regarding Dredging and Mining

The Office of Transformation, Creativity, and Innovation (OTCI), as the internal consultant for LASG, has successfully addressed the overlapping functions between the Ministry of Waterfront and Infrastructure Development (MWID) and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), fostering a more streamlined governance structure for Lagos State.

During an engagement with both ministries held recently at the Secretariat, Alausa, presentations and in-depth discussions facilitated by the OTCI ensured that a clear delineation of responsibilities was established regarding dredging, mining and mineral resources.  The delineation aims to enhance governance efficiency and prevent future conflicts.

Speaking at the meeting, Mrs. Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, Director-General of the OTCI, emphasised the Office's role in ensuring seamless governance and removing obstacles to progress. She highlighted that through collaborative dialogue and a commitment to clarity, a resolution has been reached that empowers both Ministries to effectively deliver on their mandates.

Key resolutions from the meeting include the establishment of boundary limitations and the coordination of dredging efforts, effective immediately and overseen by the OTCI to ensure compliance and facilitate a smooth transition.

Anjous-Ademuyiwa expressed confidence that these resolutions will enhance collaboration and operational efficiency between MWID and MEMR, with the OTCI dedicated to ongoing monitoring and support. "This represents a significant step towards strengthening governance and promoting sustainable development in Lagos State", she stated.
