 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said.  Police Intercept Suspected Stolen Car Headed to Zimbabwe


Limpopo – A suspected stolen vehicle believed to be on its way to Zimbabwe was intercepted by police on Friday, 16 May 2025.


Members of the Provincial Flying Squad were on patrol when they received a tip-off about a grey Toyota Cross SUV that had been reported stolen earlier this month in Pretoria Central, Gauteng.


The vehicle was seen speeding on the N1 South near Polokwane. Police gave chase after the driver refused to stop. The car was finally intercepted at the Nirvana traffic lights.


Upon searching the vehicle, police found a damaged tracking device that had been removed. The 31-year-old driver failed to provide proof of ownership and was immediately arrested for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.


He is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 19 May 2025.
