 Popular Awka MC And Comedian Aiza Nwosu Shot Dead Popular Awka-born master of ceremonies, comedian and griot, Aiza Nwosu, was reportedly shot dead today, Sunday, 30th August 2026, in Awka, Anambra State. Unconfirmed reports circulating online allege that his killing may be connected to a lingering land-related dispute. This remains unverified, however, and it is now left for the relevant security agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death. The tragic news has shocked many, particularly within Awka and the entertainment community. It also raises renewed concerns about violent killings in Awka and the urgent need to address insecurity in the area. Aiza had been active in the entertainment industry for many years and was a friend and colleague to many. He was also known for mentoring younger entertainers and contributing to the growth of the local entertainment scene.  Police Intercept Suspected Stolen Car Headed to Zimbabwe


Limpopo – A suspected stolen vehicle believed to be on its way to Zimbabwe was intercepted by police on Friday, 16 May 2025.


Members of the Provincial Flying Squad were on patrol when they received a tip-off about a grey Toyota Cross SUV that had been reported stolen earlier this month in Pretoria Central, Gauteng.


The vehicle was seen speeding on the N1 South near Polokwane. Police gave chase after the driver refused to stop. The car was finally intercepted at the Nirvana traffic lights.


Upon searching the vehicle, police found a damaged tracking device that had been removed. The 31-year-old driver failed to provide proof of ownership and was immediately arrested for possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.


He is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 19 May 2025.
