 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Rivers State Deputy Governor Debunks Resignation Rumours Amid Reconciliation Efforts


Suspended Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Professor Ngozi Nma Ordu, has refuted rumours of her resignation, labeling them as baseless and malicious.


The clarification came through the Head of the Press Unit, Owepele Benibo, who, in a telephone interview, described the reports as “false information from the pit of hell.” Benibo emphasized that Professor Nma Ordu has no plans to resign, especially as reconciliation efforts are ongoing to restore peace in the state. He urged the public to dismiss the “fake news,” affirming that the Deputy Governor remains committed to supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration.


This marks the second time such rumours have surfaced. On March 5, 2025, similar claims circulated on Facebook among Rivers State users, alleging that Nma Ordu had stepped down. Her media team promptly debunked those reports as well.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
