 Texas woman charged with medical child abuse for falsifying toddler’s health and pushing unnecessary feeding tube surgeries A Texas woman has been charged with medical child abuse after allegedly falsifying her toddler’s medical history to pressure doctors into performing unnecessary procedures, including feeding tube surgeries, in what authorities are calling a “sickening” case. Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food. Covert surveillance confirmed the child was able to eat meals without difficulty, prompting authorities to stop tube feedings.  SECURITY CHIEFS MEET IN ANAMBRA AHEAD OF PRESIDENTIAL VISIT


The Anambra State Security Chiefs convened today, Monday, 5th May 2025, in a closed-door meeting to strengthen security arrangements ahead of the scheduled visit of the President to Anambra State—popularly known as the Light of the Nation—on Thursday, 8th May 2025.


The high-level meeting, which lasted for five (5) hours, featured detailed briefings from heads of various security agencies. The deliberations focused on reviewing current security intelligence, assessing threat levels, and implementing fortified security measures within the capital city and across strategic locations. Key areas of focus included joint operational deployment, coordinated patrols, and surveillance strategies.


Additionally, the session addressed operational planning, inter-agency coordination, and contingency preparedness, ensuring the development of robust response strategies for various possible scenarios during the presidential visit.


Agencies in attendance included the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi (Rtd).


This comprehensive security approach reflects the commitment of Anambra State’s security architecture to guaranteeing the safety of the visiting President, dignitaries, and citizens, while sustaining peace and stability across the state.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
