Barack Obama 'confident' America will have a female president 'sometime soon': 'It’ll become normalized' Barack Obama recently expressed optimism about America’s political future, saying he believes the country will elect a female president “sometime soon.”  In an interview with People, the former president explained that just as his own election in 2008 helped normalize the idea of a Black president, he expects that a woman in the Oval Office will eventually be seen as unremarkable.  He noted that once the milestone is reached, public focus will shift to everyday issues like gas prices and policy outcomes rather than the novelty of gender. Obama’s comments highlight the progress women have made in politics, from governorships to Senate seats, while acknowledging that the presidency remains elusive. Seyi Tinubu Denies Allegations of Attacking NANS President, Labels Claims as Fabricated

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has refuted allegations that he attacked the reputation of Atiku Abubakar Isah, President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). In an Instagram post on Friday, Seyi described the accusations as “completely fictional” and expressed shock at what he called lies aimed at tarnishing his image.

Seyi clarified that he has never met or spoken with Isah, nor visited any location or collaborated with thugs as alleged. “All these allegations made by Atiku Isah are completely fictional,” he stated, dismissing the claims outright.

The controversy stems from a press conference held by Isah on Wednesday, where he accused Seyi Tinubu and Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, of offering him a N100 million bribe to promote President Tinubu’s administration. Isah claimed he rejected the offer due to the president’s alleged underperformance. He further alleged that, following his refusal, he was abducted on April 15, stripped naked, and beaten in an incident involving the Managing Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

Isah recounted, “I was stripped naked and beaten seriously… They claimed they would share the video.” He alleged that his abductors, including an individual named Ladoja, threatened a cover-up orchestrated by Seyi Tinubu, claiming the Inspector General of Police would be instructed to suppress the matter. Defiant, Isah stated, “I made it clear that even if I am shot, I will still come to this hall,” referring to his inauguration as NANS president. He vowed that NANS would remain resolute, adding, “Seyi Tinubu can do anything he wants, but we are determined.”
