 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. To ease parking challenges, designated car parks have been arranged for public use, these include; the Yoruba Lawn Tennis Club Car Park, Zone 2 Car Park (opposite Island Club along King George V Road), Museum Kit...

THE PRINCESS OF WALES HAS PRESENTED THE QUEEN ELIZABETH II AWARD FOR BRITISH DESIGN TO PATRICK MCDOWELL AT THE BRITISH FASHION COUNCIL IN LONDON.(PHOTOS).


 The Princess of Wales has presented the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design to Patrick McDowell at the British Fashion Council in London.


First presented by The late Queen at London Fashion Week in 2018, the Award recognises the role of British design and fashion in the country’s culture and trade.


Each year, the Award is presented to an emerging British fashion designer who shows exceptional talent and originality, whilst demonstrating value to the community and strong sustainable policies.


In 2018, Queen Elizabeth II joined Anna Wintour on the front row at London Fashion Week, before presenting Richard Quinn with the inaugural Award.


In 2019, The Queen (as Duchess of Cornwall) presented the Award to Bethany Williams.


In 2020, The Princess Royal presented the Award to Rosh Mantani.


In 2021, The Duchess of Edinburgh (as Countess of Wessex) virtually presented Priya Ahluwalia with the Award.


In 2022, The Princess of Wales (as Duchess of Cambridge) presented the Award to Saul Nash.


In 2023, The King presented Foday Dumbuya with the Award.


Last year, in 2024, The Duchess of Edinburgh presented the Award to Steven Stokey-Daley.
