 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. 2025 EID-EL-KABIR: CP FCT POLICE COMMAND FELICITATES WITH RESIDENTS.


The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory, CP Ajao S. Adewale, psc, mnips, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, and the officers and men of the FCT Police Command, extends warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to all Muslim faithful and residents of the FCT.


This sacred occasion, which symbolizes sacrifice, compassion, and unity, presents an opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and peaceful celebration with loved ones. The Command joins all well-meaning Nigerians in celebrating the strength of our shared values and the spirit of togetherness that defines this festive period.


The Commissioner of Police encourages residents to embrace the values of love, kindness, and mutual respect that Eid represents. He further urges everyone to celebrate responsibly and continue to be law-abiding citizens.
