 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity. A FLORIDA FATHER MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE ON FATHER'S DAY.(PHOTO).

 A Florida father made the ultimate sacrifice on Father's Day.


33-year-old Antwon Wilson was enjoying Father's Day at the beach in Ft. Lauderdale with his daughters when everything changed for this family. Circumstances required their father to step up and show what a father's love means and Antwon did not hesitate. The incident unfolded shortly after 7 P.M. only minutes after lifeguards finished their last shift of the day.


As Antwon was in the water he noticed his young  daughter was struggling in the rough surf. When seconds counted and his young daughters life hung in the balance Antwon sprang into action.


Antwon struggled through the rough waters and managed to reach his daughter. He was then able to keep her afloat until 

lifeguards who fortunately hadn't left for the day, could make it to his daughter.


Sadly, after handing his daughter off to the lifeguards Antwon was immediately pulled underwater. Antwon was recovered from the water only minutes later.


Both father and daughter were rushed to Broward Health Medical Center where Antwon passed away. Antwon's young daughter is expected to make a full recovery. Her father's selfless act saved her life.
