 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. A TEXAS MAN ATTACKED HIS MOTHER WITH A HAMMER AND THEN TALKED ABOUT IT ON A GAMING PLATFORM. (PHOTO).

 A Texas man attacked his mother with a hammer and then talked about it on a gaming platform. 


24-year-old Robert Babin carried out a brutal attack on his mother on Wednesday, June 11th. After carrying out the attack, Babin allegedly took to an online gaming platform to confess to the crime and ask for advice.


According to court documents, Babin said he was "in trouble and needed help". He went on to say he hit his mother a few times on the side  of the head with a hammer and "didn't want to end up on death row". 


The friend advised Babin to call the police before he presumably contacting authorities himself. 


When officers arrived at the Harris County  Texas home, they discovered Babin's 64-year-old mother unresponsive and showing severe injuries on her head in the backyard. Robert was not home when police arrived but a short time later he arrived at the scene. He told police he had went to the store and his mother was napping before he left.


The 64-year-old victim was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital where she remains in serious condition. 


We do hope she has a full recovery. 


Robert Babin was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He remains in custody.
