Plan C is a pregnancy termination pill.
38-year-old Justin Banta is facing charges of attempted Capital M*rder and tampering with evidence. These charges come after Banta, who works in technology for the Justice Department, allegedly slipped pregnancy ending drugs in his ex-girlfriends drink last October. Authorities also allege Justin Banta remotely connected to his phone and wiped evidence after it was confiscated.
According to his ex-girlfriend, she was involved in a relationship with Justin Banta last September when she learned she was pregnant. Banta urged her to terminate the pregnancy and even offered to cover the cost of ordering Plan C online. The woman adamantly refused. She repeatedly told Banta that she wanted the baby and she was keeping the baby. She was excited to have a baby on the way. Banta expressed he was upset that she wanted to keep the baby. She figured Banta would get over it.
The glowing mom-to-be met with Justin Banta at a coffee shop in October where she alleges he slipped the Plan C into her drink without her permission or knowledge.
She claims she awoke the next day to severe heavy bleeding, cramping, nausea and extreme fatigue causing her to seek medical assistance. She subsequently lost the baby on October 19th. These are the most common side effects women have several hours after taking Plan C.
The girlfriend was wondering if it was possible that Justin Banta's slipped her a pregnancy termination drug. The hospital staff and law enforcement were positive that is indeed what happened.
After the police questioned Justin Banta and confiscated his phone, Banta remotely reset the device, thus destroying ALL evidence that would show a purchase of Plan C online. This alarming action prompted authorities to obtain a warrant for Justin Banta's arrest.
Banta was taken into custody but was released on a $520,000 bond the same day.
Our thoughts are with the victims in this case.
