Ava Castillo has stage four brain cancer and is currently fighting bravely for her life. She is currently receiving radiation treatment at Taylor Scott & White in Temple, Texas. Not only has this been incredibly difficult physically for her, it has also been difficult financially for Ava's family. Every cent counts to this family and when Bush's Chicken on Lake Road agreed to place a donation box in their restaurant, it was a huge blessing.
However, recently a shocking incident was caught on security cameras inside of the restaurant. While employees were busy, a young man can be seen stealing the donations that the community had placed in the box to help this struggling local family.
Sadly, Ava's mother was actually on her way to pick up the donations when the theft occurred. That's so incredibly sad.
The store's owner was shocked when she learned of the theft and said she would have never believed a person could be capable of stealing from a young girl and her family in this very unfortunate position.
Thankfully the restaurant put out a new donation box and the community has come out to support the family by making donations! How wonderful!
Police have the security footage and are currently investigating the theft. They have not released any information on the suspect's identity or if he is in custody yet. The suspect is in the bottom part of this picture. Ava, the brave young lady battling cancer is photographed above.
