 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. ‎The wife of the Abia State Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti, has said the state will continue to protect the right of widows and vulnerable women to inherit landed properties in order to enable them to be strong economically, which will further enhance their.

‎The Abia first lady who was represented by the wife of the Deputy Governor Mrs Adaeze Emetus stated during an event to mark the 2025 International widows day in Umuahia the state capital standard of living.


‎"As wife of the governor, I have consistently condemned harmful widowhood practices including denial to inheritance right of landed properties. My office will remain open to protecting widows"

‎Mrs Otti noted that despite the huge challenges faced by widows, they can be a shining light to the society if their potentials are properly harnessed, which will further enable them to contribute meaningfully to their varous communities.

‎“The state government is poised at recognizing the challenges of widows in the state and to ensure that measures are put in place to ameliorate those challenges and give them a sense of belonging.”

‎She encouraged the widows present to remain strong and resilient, assuring them of government support at all times .
