 Court Admits Nine Exhibits Against Malami and Family A  Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja and presided over by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik  on Monday,  April 20, 2026 admitted nine exhibits against  a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN,  alongside his wife, Hajia Bashir Asabe, and his son, Abubakar Abdulaziz Malami. The exhibits were presented before the court by the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in its ongoing trial of the former Minister and some family members.  The EFCC is prosecuting the defendants on an amended 16-count charge bordering on conspiracy, procuring, disguising, concealing and laundering proceeds of unlawful activities to the tune of N8,713,923,759.49 (Eight Billion, Seven Hundred and Thirteen Million, Nine Hundred and Twenty-Three Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty-Nine Naira, Forty-Nine Kobo), contrary to the provisions of the Money Laundering (Prev...

ACT OF MISCHIEF AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: KANO STATE POLICE COMMAND ISSUES STRONG WARNING


The Kano State Police Command is miffed by a disturbing viral video showing some unpatriotic individuals engaging in an acts of vandalism and destruction of properties on the roads in the State. This unwarranted act is not only disrespectful but also criminal and constitutes security threats that will not be tolerated.


2.  The Police Command has commenced investigation and profiling of those behind this despicable act in a bid to cause them to face the full consequences of their actions.


3.  The Command warns the public, especially youths, that any form of vandalism and destruction of property will be viewed seriously as the law will take its course, and those found culpable will be brought to justice.


4.  The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis therefore, urges members of the public to be law-abiding, eschew acts that could cause breakdown of law and order, and jeopardize sustained peace being enjoyed in the state. He assures the public that the Command will do everything possible to maintain law and order in the state.
