 U.S imposes sanctions on former Congo President Joseph Kabila The United States on Thursday imposed sanctions on former Democratic Republic of Congo President Joseph Kabila for his support of ‌Rwanda-backed M23 rebels and for fueling political instability in Congo's troubled east. The U.S. Treasury Department said M23 and its political-military arm, the Congo River Alliance (AFC), had been stoking violent conflict in eastern DRC, resulting in the deaths of thousands of civilians and a mass displacement crisis. Treasury said Kabila had provided financial support to the ​AFC in order to influence the political situation in eastern DRC, while encouraging DRC troops to defect and join AFC forces. ​It said Kabila was working to regain influence over the government by backing a candidate opposed to the current ⁠leader.  Agunechemba Security Operative Arrested For Extorting N70k From a Lady for not wearing Bra


The Special Adviser to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Chief Ken Emeakayi, has declared that no Agunechemba operative of the Operation Udo Ga Chi Security Service is above the law.


Emeakayi who is overseeing the Agunechemba Operation Udo Ga Chi Security Service on behalf of the governor, said they arrest their operatives who con­travened the law, stressing that there are no nepotism in their service delivery.


He said one of the Agunechem­ba operatives accosted a lady on an errand in Isuaniocha area of Awka-North Local Government and began to harass her for not wearing bra and in the end force­fully collected N70K from her


He said they got the informa­tion and he sent for the officer who is now in hand-cuffs for the crime he committed because the victim identified him when the family members came to his office to complain about the in­cident involving their daughter and the Agunechemba security operative.
