 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  ‎Anambra, Delta NSCDC chiefs unite to tackle destruction of government properties

‎The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra and Delta states commands have synergised on operational modalities to protect critical national, state and local government assets as well as the lives of citizens within the two states.

‎

‎In a statement released on Monday, the Head, Media and Tactical Ops, NSCDC Anambra State Command, Okadigbo Edwin, said the synergy was reached on Thursday, when the Anambra State Commandant, Maku Olatunde, hosted his Delta State counterpart, Mathew Ovye, at the NSCDC state Command Headquarters Awka.

‎

‎Edwin said the state commandants condemned the rate of vandalism of assets and infrastructure in the areas, saying proactive measures must be taken to tackle the menace.
