 Texas man arrested with 75 pounds of marijuana in luggage while flying to London, police say A Texas man was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities found 75 pounds of marijuana in his luggage before he could board a flight to London. Harrison O’Neill Tiernan, 23, from Austin, was charged with cannabis trafficking. He was traveling to Heathrow Airport and had checked two suitcases for his British Airways flight. Inspectors discovered 65 vacuum-sealed packages containing a green, leafy substance later confirmed to be marijuana. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Tiernan while he attempted to board the flight, and he acknowledged that the bags were his. Authorities noted the inspections were part of broader efforts at the airport due to high outbound narcotics activity. In total, Tiernan was carrying 34.01 kilograms, or 74.98 pounds, of marijuana.   BENUE LINKS BUS ABDUCTED WITH PASSENGERS IN OKPOKWU, BY GUNMEN 




A Benue Links commercial bus with registration number 14B-143BN was attacked and its passengers abducted by unidentified gunmen on the evening of Sunday, June 22, 2025, along the Eke axis of Okpokwu Local Government Area in Benue State.


Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when the bus, ferrying commuters through the route, was ambushed. The assailants reportedly robbed the passengers of their belongings before forcibly taking them into the nearby bush.


Prompt intervention efforts were initiated by Comrade Austin Agada, who happened to be passing by the scene shortly after the attack. He quickly alerted and mobilised both military and police personnel, who arrived at the scene to commence a rescue operation.


In addition to the security response, Agada also reached out to local youths and vigilante groups from three surrounding villages, urging them to mount surveillance and join in combing the bushes to help locate and rescue the abducted passengers.


Details of the incident, including the vehicle involved and contacts of military personnel overseeing the operation, have been shared with an official of Benue Links to ensure a coordinated and swift response to the crisis.


As of the time of filing this report, the number of abducted persons and their current status remain unknown, while rescue efforts are ongoing.
