 Texas man arrested with 75 pounds of marijuana in luggage while flying to London, police say A Texas man was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities found 75 pounds of marijuana in his luggage before he could board a flight to London. Harrison O’Neill Tiernan, 23, from Austin, was charged with cannabis trafficking. He was traveling to Heathrow Airport and had checked two suitcases for his British Airways flight. Inspectors discovered 65 vacuum-sealed packages containing a green, leafy substance later confirmed to be marijuana. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Tiernan while he attempted to board the flight, and he acknowledged that the bags were his. Authorities noted the inspections were part of broader efforts at the airport due to high outbound narcotics activity. In total, Tiernan was carrying 34.01 kilograms, or 74.98 pounds, of marijuana.  ‎Bill for creation of the 6th South-East  state(ANIM) passes second reading in Senate

‎A bill seeking the creation of a new state in the South-East geopolitical zone of the country has passed its second reading in the Senate and is now under consideration by the Senate Committee on Constitutional Review.

‎Senator Osita Izunaso, representing Imo West, disclosed this development on Friday during a media parley in Abuja, where he marked his two-year milestone in the National Assembly.

‎He revealed that the proposed state, tentatively named ANIM State will be carved out from parts of Anambra and Imo States.He stated the creation of ANIM state is well deserved for South East 

‎"It’s not a favour, it’s a matter of equity, Every other region in the country has six states, except the South-East, which has only five. We’re not asking for too much,just for the balance Nigeria’s federal character demands,” 

‎The senator also said it would be unfair for anybody to protest against the proposed new state, warning that the South-East cannot continue to remain a minority in the regional standing of the country.

‎According to him, the creation of the proposed ANIM State will go through due constitutional process, including a referendum, and would not be impose.
