 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  COURT GRANTS BAIL TO 70-YEAR-OLD MAN ACCUSED OF VANDALISING PUBLIC ASSET


A Magistrate Court in Bolade, Oshodi, on Monday granted bail to a 70-year-old suspect, Mr. Kayode Otitoju, who was arraigned on a two-count charge after he was arrested on Sunday at Lekki Phase 1 for vandalising an ongoing fence work project by the canal setback being undertaken by the State Government.


The Court granted the accused, who pleaded not guilty to the two-count charges preferred against him, bail after an application by the defence counsel, Oluwaseun Ettu, Esq., for bail on the most lenient terms, including N200,000 bond, One Surety, Presentation of three-year tax receipts and Verification of address.


The case has been adjourned to 25th July 2025 for commencement of the trial. However, the accused is yet to meet the bail conditions at the time of compiling this report.
