 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  Enyimba in Contract Talks with Stanley Eguma for Permanent Head Coach Role


Enyimba Football Club, the nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, are negotiating with Stanley Eguma to appoint him as their permanent head coach, following his stint as interim manager last season.


Eguma, who took over mid-season after the dismissal of Olanrewaju Yemi, led Enyimba to a commendable sixth-place finish in the NPFL. The club also placed third in their CAF Confederation Cup group, narrowly missing the knockout stage.


According to club sources, Eguma has presented his contract demands to Enyimba’s management, who are currently reviewing them. Both parties are expected to finalize the agreement next week, paving the way for Eguma to assume the role on a permanent basis.


The negotiations signal Enyimba’s confidence in Eguma’s ability to steer the People’s Elephant back to the top of Nigerian and continental football.
