 Guinea-Bissau stops vaccine study funded by Trump administration Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister has said his government has stopped a study funded by the Trump administration aiming to evaluate side effects of the life-saving hepatitis B vaccine, including any links to autism. The West African country, one of the region's poorest, has high rates of hepatitis B, and the prospective study had drawn an outcry from scientists and international health bodies because only half the newborns in the trial would get the vaccine at birth. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus said it was not ethical. Guinea-Bissau last month suspended the trial pending an ethical review. Critics had said it was being used to test theories linking vaccines to autism, long promoted by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr but contradicted by scientific evidence.  FIFA World Club: Tems to perform at opening ceremony


Nigerian singer Tems will perform at the first-ever halftime show of a FIFA Club World Cup final. The event will take place on July 13, 2025, at MetLife Stadium in New York.Nigeria: Nigerian fashion

Tems will share the stage with Colombian star J Balvin and American pop singer Doja Cat. The show will be broadcast live and free on DAZN.com so fans around the world can watch.

Tems said she’s excited to be part of this global moment. “We’ll bring the world together to celebrate football and the power of music,” she said. “It’s also a chance to help children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.”

This special performance is part of a project by FIFA and Global Citizen to raise $100 million. The goal is to give more children access to quality education and football.

Tems called the event a celebration of both football and unity through music.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
