The victims were ambushed and killed while traveling to Quan Pan Local Government for a wedding ceremony. Eleven others sustained varying degrees of injuries in the attack.

Describing the incident as "shocking" and "deeply sorrowful," Governor Sani issued a stern call for justice, urging security agencies to act decisively and bring the perpetrators to book.

"The criminals must be fished out and dealt with accordingly. We must put a stop to the nefarious activities of non-state actors. This madness must stop. Enough is enough," the governor declared in an official statement.

Governor Sani also called on Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, to take a firm stance in response to the tragedy.

"He must take full charge of the situation and direct the operations of the security agencies until the murderers are brought to justice. We must send a clear signal that impunity will no longer be tolerated," he said.

He reassured the people of Kaduna State that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure justice for the victims and their families.

"Let me use this opportunity to call on the citizens of Kaduna State to remain calm. All hands are on deck to ensure that our murdered citizens get justice," Governor Sani appealed.

Highlighting the success of peacebuilding efforts in Kaduna, he pointed to the "Kaduna Peace Model" as an example of what can be achieved through political will and sincere leadership.

"The situation in Plateau State is not irredeemable. The bloodshed must stop."

Governor Sani extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and affirmed that the state government is providing support to both the victims' families and those injured in the attack.

"We shall do all in our power to lessen their pains and ensure that the injured victims receive adequate medical attention. May the gentle souls of our departed citizens rest in perfect peace."
