Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the Chairperson of the newly reconstituted Lagos State Market Advisory Council. The appointment was announced during the council’s inauguration ceremony on Tuesday in Lagos.

In his address, Governor Sanwo-Olu charged the council members to execute their duties with integrity, fairness, and a commitment to resolving disputes while fostering smooth interactions between traders and customers. He emphasized the state government’s priority to ensure safety, orderliness, and transparency in Lagos markets, which he described as vital to the state’s economy.

“Our markets are central to the economy of Lagos, and they must be managed with structure, accountability, and vision,” Sanwo-Olu stated. He commended the council members for their leadership qualities and dedication to community development, while noting that further improvements are needed in market operations.

In her acceptance speech, Tinubu-Ojo, who also serves as the Iyaloja General of Nigeria, expressed gratitude for the appointment and vowed to lead the council in fulfilling its mandate.
