 Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, OFR, has approved 100 hectares of land within the Abia Airport Project Site for the Nigerian Air Force to build its training base in Abia State. The Nigeria Air Force had requested an expansion of the 50 hectares of land already earmarked for its training base at the Abia Airport Project Site.  Governor Otti gave the approval on Tuesday, March 10th, in his office while receiving a delegation of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF), Ground Training Command led by the Commander, Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Gabriel Kehinde, who called on him. "The partnership is such that Abia State Government is handling the runway, and the Federal Government is handling the Airport Terminal.  "We expect the runway to be ready very soon.  LAGOS STATE PARKING AUTHORITY OPENS AREA OFFICE IN YABA


‎In line with the Lagos State Government commitment for a continuous improvement in the parking management, the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), has commenced operation in its Area office in Yaba. The office which is located inside the Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) at 379, Herbert Macaulay way, Yaba, commenced operations in May, 2025.


‎Speaking on the initiative, the General Manager of LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, stated that the creation of the Yaba Area Office was a deliberate move by her Agency to ensure a broader and more efficient coverage of the Yaba axis. According to her, LASPA officials are now on ground in Yaba Local Council Development Area to ensure a smoother, safer parking experience and improve business turnaround time for residents.


While acknowledging that the Yaba office is the first Area office to be opened by LASPA, she noted that several other offices would soon be opened in order to ensure a faster and more efficient service delivery to the people in the various Local Government and Council Development Areas of the State.


‎The Yaba Area office is expected to serve as a Centre point for stakeholders engagement, enforcing compliance, and parking infrastructure development within the Yaba LCDA.
