 Court Jails Two for N14.8m Fraud in Maiduguri Justice B.T Zannah of the Borno State High Court sitting in Maiduguri, on Monday, July 13, 2026 convicted and sentenced two to three years imprisonment. The convicts are: Babagana Bukar and Hauwa Chabri.  The convicts were arraigned on Monday, July 13, 2026 by the Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a separate one -count charge for the offence of criminal misappropriation to the tune of N14,800,000.00 (Fourteen  Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira). The charge against Bukar reads: "That you, Babagana Bukar sometimes in 2025 at Maiduguri, Borno State within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, dishonestly misappropriated and converted to your own use the aggregate sum of N8,800,000.00 (Eight Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira)  money belonging to Bunu Gambo Liman, being amount given to you through Babakura Umar and Bello Adamu for the supplies of 100 bags of IRS...

 LAGOS STATE POLICE COMMAND ADDRESSES CONCERNS OVER VIRAL VIDEO ON MISSING PERSON


The Lagos State Police Command became aware of a viral video circulating on social media in which a concerned mother is lamenting the disappearance of her son. The Command wishes to express deep

concerns over the missing young man, Master Ovie Kehinde, and wish to reassure the mother, the general public and all Lagosians, that every necessary action is being taken to locate him and reunite him unhurt with his family.


The Command has activated all relevant investigative

teams including the special tactical squads of the Command and all Police Divisions and Area Commands throughout Lagos State and those of other Police Commands contiguous to the state to ensure that the missing young man is returned back safe to his family.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, before now had directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba to take over the case and carry out a discreet investigation into the matter to ensure that the missing person is found.


The Command wishes to implore anyone with credible information that could assist in further investigation of the case to come forward and get across to the Public Relations Officer of the Command or contact the nearest police station.

The Lagos State Police Command remains steadfast in its mandate to protect lives and property and will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safe return of the missing person.
