 The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO), yesterday, sealed off some buildings/properties across the state over different environmental infractions. They are; * A property on 34, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island for deliberate discharge of raw sewage into the public drain causing offensive odour and sewage flowing in the community, constituting public nuisance, environmental pollution and endangering human life. * A block of Shops along Powerline Road, Meiran, Alimosho, for the illegal construction and operation of unsanitary toilet facility on a road setback without a permit, constituting public nuisance, environmental pollution and endangering human life. * A three-storey building at 38, Adeniji Adele Street, Lagos Island for deliberate discharge of raw sewage into the public drain. * A building at H29, House of Jesus Street, Langbasa, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, for the deliberate discharge of raw sewage into the public drains.  LASG RELEASES DIVERSION PLAN AHEAD OF OGUDU/IFAKO BRIDGE REPAIRS


The Lagos State Government has released a diversion plan ahead of the repairs of the Ogudu/Ifako Bridge. The repairs, which were earlier postponed, will now commence from Saturday, 28th June, to Wednesday, 15th October, 2025, (110 days).


The repairs are expected to be carried out in eight phases on both lanes.


The 1st to 4th Phases covering the stretch of Ogudu/Ifako Bridge inbound Alapere will commence from Saturday 28th June to Saturday 16th August, 2025, (50days) and Phases 5th to 8th covering the stretch of Ogudu/Ifako inbound Oworoshoki will be fixed between Saturday 16th August and Sunday, 5th October, 2025 (51days).


In line with the above, Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes during the partial closure, which will only affect the work area at every phase;


Alternative routes for Phase One;


·       Motorists from Iyana Oworo will go through Gbagada to connect Anthony to access Ikorodu road after which they will have free movement to their desired destinations.


·       One lane will be used near the work area (50m before and after)


Alternative routes for phase 2.


·       Motorists from the Eko bridge will go through Funsho Williams to connect Ikorodu road.


The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, assured that LASTMA officers will be on the ground to minimise inconvenience and manage traffic flow along the aforementioned routes during the lane maintenance works.


ADVISORY: - Motorists are implored to be patient as the Partial Bridge closure (50 metres before and after repair site) is part of the traffic management plans for the maintenance works on the expansion joints of the bridge by Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure (Office of Infrastructure).
