 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence.  Mpumalanga and Limpopo Police Nab Fugitive in Joint Operation at Waalkraal


A 36-year-old male suspect was arrested during a well-coordinated, intelligence-driven joint operation conducted by SAPS members from Dennilton in Limpopo and a Task Team from Mpumalanga on Monday, 24 June 2025, at midday. The suspect was apprehended while hiding in Waalkraal, located within the Dennilton policing area in the Sekhukhune District.


The operation followed actionable intelligence about the suspect’s whereabouts and his alleged possession of suspected stolen property, firearms, and ammunition. Acting swiftly, the joint team successfully tracked and arrested the suspect at the identified location.


During the arrest, police recovered various items, including ammunition, two replica firearms, multiple vehicle number plates, an undisclosed amount of cash, and a suspected stolen vehicle.


The suspect is expected to appear before the Dennilton Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 25 June 2025. He faces charges of possession of suspected stolen property, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and possession of ammunition.
