 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Mpumalanga and Limpopo Police Nab Fugitive in Joint Operation at Waalkraal


A 36-year-old male suspect was arrested during a well-coordinated, intelligence-driven joint operation conducted by SAPS members from Dennilton in Limpopo and a Task Team from Mpumalanga on Monday, 24 June 2025, at midday. The suspect was apprehended while hiding in Waalkraal, located within the Dennilton policing area in the Sekhukhune District.


The operation followed actionable intelligence about the suspect’s whereabouts and his alleged possession of suspected stolen property, firearms, and ammunition. Acting swiftly, the joint team successfully tracked and arrested the suspect at the identified location.


During the arrest, police recovered various items, including ammunition, two replica firearms, multiple vehicle number plates, an undisclosed amount of cash, and a suspected stolen vehicle.


The suspect is expected to appear before the Dennilton Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 25 June 2025. He faces charges of possession of suspected stolen property, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and possession of ammunition.
