Blaming opposition for hunger is ‘delusion’, Atiku tells Tinubu Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of blaming the opposition for the country’s economic hardship. He said the President was trying to evade responsibility for his administration’s policies.  NASS Extends 2024 Budget to Dec 2025, Experts Raise Credibility Concerns

The National Assembly has extended the 2024 capital budget implementation to December 2025, marking the second rollover amid delays in project execution and funding. Lawmakers cited the need to complete key projects, while experts warned the move undermines fiscal discipline and reflects deep flaws in Nigeria’s budget process.

Economists urged reforms to ensure realistic budgeting, citing oil revenue shortfalls and overambitious projections. Some lawmakers blamed political distractions and weak revenue performance for the delays, while others defended the extension as necessary to avoid project abandonment.
