 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  ‎NYSC DG Warns Corps Members Against Criticising Federal Government in social media 

‎Speaking during his visit to the Awgu Orientation Camp in Enugu State on Friday, June 20, the NYSC boss reminded corps members that they are serving under the authority of the federal government and are therefore expected to conduct themselves with discipline and respect throughout their service year.

‎The director general of the NYSC, Brigadier General O.O. Nafiu, warned corps members to maintain discipline on social media, has cautioned corps members against using social media or other public platforms to insult or criticise the federal government or the NYSC scheme.

‎He advised corps members to adopt financial discipline and save a portion of their allowance for future ventures.

‎The NYSC boss also urged the youths to prioritise nation-building and reconsider seeking opportunities abroad through the “japa” trend
