 Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, OFR, has approved 100 hectares of land within the Abia Airport Project Site for the Nigerian Air Force to build its training base in Abia State. The Nigeria Air Force had requested an expansion of the 50 hectares of land already earmarked for its training base at the Abia Airport Project Site.  Governor Otti gave the approval on Tuesday, March 10th, in his office while receiving a delegation of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF), Ground Training Command led by the Commander, Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Gabriel Kehinde, who called on him. "The partnership is such that Abia State Government is handling the runway, and the Federal Government is handling the Airport Terminal.  "We expect the runway to be ready very soon.  OBIDIENTS CANCEL DONATIONS FOR PETER OBI'S BIRTHDAY


Following an earlier call for Obidients across Nigeria and the world at large to donate for Peter Obi's 64th birthday on July 19, the Peter Obi Movement has cancelled the request.


In a statement signed by Dr. Yunusa Tanko,

National Coordinator; Morris Monye,

Director of Mobilisation; and Nana Kazaure,

Director Strategic Communications & Media today, the group said requesting for birthday donations was an error.


"We acknowledge that the release of donation account details and communication without adequate context may have created confusion and raised concerns," the group said. "The call for donations has been suspended and instead we encourage you to allocate your resources and lend a helping hand to those in need."


The group said a rally tagged “FROM COMPASSION TO PURPOSE: Obidients in Action for a New Possible Nigeria” will instead hold across the country and Obidients will help the less-privileged.
