 Chris Brown Avoids Jail After London Nightclub Attack, Gets 8-Month Suspended Sentence Chris Brown will not be going to prison for now after a London court sentenced him over a nightclub attack that left music producer Abraham Diaw injured. The American singer, 37, was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, October 26, receiving eight months in prison, suspended for 12 months. His co-defendant, rapper HoodyBaby, whose real name is Omololu Akinlolu, 40, received a four-month suspended sentence, also for 12 months. Both were ordered to pay £1,500 in costs. The case dates back to February 19, 2023 at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London, where Brown admitted attacking Diaw with a tequila bottle. CCTV footage showed the producer being struck twice on the head, hit on the shoulder, chased, pushed to the floor and kicked while down.  OBIDIENTS CANCEL DONATIONS FOR PETER OBI'S BIRTHDAY


Following an earlier call for Obidients across Nigeria and the world at large to donate for Peter Obi's 64th birthday on July 19, the Peter Obi Movement has cancelled the request.


In a statement signed by Dr. Yunusa Tanko,

National Coordinator; Morris Monye,

Director of Mobilisation; and Nana Kazaure,

Director Strategic Communications & Media today, the group said requesting for birthday donations was an error.


"We acknowledge that the release of donation account details and communication without adequate context may have created confusion and raised concerns," the group said. "The call for donations has been suspended and instead we encourage you to allocate your resources and lend a helping hand to those in need."


The group said a rally tagged “FROM COMPASSION TO PURPOSE: Obidients in Action for a New Possible Nigeria” will instead hold across the country and Obidients will help the less-privileged.
