 LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom.  Security Guard Arrested in Connection with N1 Shooting Incident Near Makhado


On 20 June 2025, at approximately 23:00, a 42-year-old male suspect, believed to be a security guard employed by a local security company, was arrested in Makhado in connection with a shooting incident that left a 28-year-old woman injured.


According to preliminary reports, the victim was travelling with family in a silver Toyota C-HR from Gauteng. As they approached the three-mile circle on the N1, their vehicle was allegedly stopped by an unknown vehicle. Sensing potential danger, the driver did not comply and instead executed a U-turn. The family continued driving before making another U-turn, heading back towards Makhado.


It was at this point, near the same location on the N1, that gunshots were reportedly fired at their vehicle, resulting in the woman sustaining injuries.


The suspect, identified as a 42-year-old security officer, was arrested at the scene. A Siga 7.62 rifle, believed to have been used in the shooting, was confiscated during the arrest.


The suspect is expected to appear before the Makhado Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 23 June 2025.
